ClintZehner.com is Clint's portfolio website, collecting work in web and interface design, graphic design, and the projects that happen when a useful skill meets an idea that refuses to go away. It presents professional work alongside experiments, personal designs, and things built because Clint wanted to see them exist.

The site is also an earlier snapshot of a portfolio that has continued to grow. Some projects have since acquired substantially more history than their original entries could contain.

Work with a purpose

The portfolio moves between interfaces, websites, printed material, and visual identity. That variety reflects a consistent concern with what the work is supposed to accomplish: helping someone find information, understand a task, use a system, or recognize an idea.

Its project descriptions often begin with an observation. A game is enjoyable but could have a more interesting interface. A fictional pub deserves a shirt. An ordinary screen could communicate its purpose more clearly. The response is to make something concrete enough to inspect.

Operation Paperclip is a particularly direct example. Clint liked Universal Paperclips and wanted to redesign its presentation. The portfolio places that work beside more conventional assignments, treating the decision to improve an experience as part of the same design practice.

Outside the conventional brief

The site's “Outside the Box” material gives space to ideas that do not fit neatly into a client-work category. Dark Daze combines a card-game concept, finite energy, depression, and fantasy humor. Shirts and other designs turn fictional places into objects someone can wear.

The Sisters Erie entry belongs to an earlier stage of that process, when a tour-shirt design was a useful way to explain the project. The work has since grown into a band website, character development, original songs, and a much larger body of writing. The older entry records a real step in that history, even though it cannot represent the whole current project.

Why Zwikipedia has more room

Zwikipedia extends the portfolio in a different form. A conventional project entry needs to make its point quickly. A substantial project may need room for the process, the tools, the failed attempts, the decisions, and the finished result.

That is especially useful when the work crosses disciplines. “Made a fictional band website with AI-assisted music” names an outcome; the individual articles can show the writing, visual direction, technical implementation, and judgment involved in reaching it.

ClintZehner.com provides the broad view. Zwikipedia makes it possible to follow a project as far as it needs to go, including into the fictional world it helped create.
